Compound Cell FFE Placement

Fixtures, furnishings and equipment can also be placed using the Compound Cell Manager (and Place Compound Cell tool). The Place Compound Cell utility supports standard 2D and 3D cells (and DWG blocks). Advantages for using this method of placement include:

  • The ability to choose a wall (linear form) and place a cell within the wall form when the Place Compound Cell tool In Form tool setting is turned on.
  • The cell automatically (by default) establishes an active/passive (parent/child) relationship with the form when it is placed. The form is active (parent) and the cell is passive (child).

The Compound Cell Manager (used to activate, create, and edit cell libraries and to create, edit and place cells) is available in the Place Building Element (Content). The Place Compound Cell tool (and subsequent tool settings window) is invoked when the Place button is pressed in the Compound Cell Manager dialog.
